In 1992, representatives from the business community, school staff, district administrative personnel and dedicated parents came together to form Business Partners in Education. The purpose of this organization was to develop strategies that would benefit both the local business community and our most valuable resource, the students of Central School District.  In the years since its inception until the present time, Business Partners in Education has generated approximately $500,000 for Central School District.

Business Partners in Education supports such activities as “Adopt-A-Class” programs at each of our elementary schools and special projects at our various school sites.

Business Partners in Education has proved to be a highly successful organization which has:

•  rewarded staff and student excellence

•  donated available money, time, and surplus materials

•  demonstrated skills to students

•  hosted field trips

•  publicly identified the efforts of its sponsors

•  developed a network of site advocates who link businesses with school needs

Continuing goals are:

• identifying new ways that local business can support students and staff

• increasing sponsor participation through personal contact

• increasing need awareness in the business community for this program, including  Adopt-a-Class programs
