English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

Each school has an elected English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) which is mandated under ed code comprised of a legal composition of parents of English learners representing the same percentage of ELS of the school. Other members may represent staff and parents/community. The ELAC meets three times a year to provide input on EL programs into the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), Safety Plan, importance of attendance, reclassification and other school EL related topics. Annually, the ELAC has an opportunity to provide input into the local control accountability plan and other pertinent information regarding Central School District's educational and parent programs. The committee is also the body which works as a liaison to the school community. ELAC meets at the school as indicated on the agenda. The meetings are open to the public.
