The purpose of the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) is to inform the public about Central School District’s Measure A & Measure N school facilities bond program. To do that, the CBOC is expected to review and report on the proper expenditure of taxpayers’ money for school construction projects.
At the November 4, 2014 election, Central School District secured voter approval to issue up to $35 million aggregate principal amount in school facilities bonds (Measure N). This followed a similar success on the November 4, 2008 election, when voters had previously authorized up to $31 million in school facilities bonds (Measure A).
Applications are available for those interested in serving on Central School District's Measure A & N Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee. Service on the CBOC is for two years and is unpaid. It is anticipated that the CBOC will meet three to four times per year. CBOC appointments are made by the District’s Board of Trustees from applications submitted to the District. As prohibited by law, committee members are not permitted to be employees, officials, consultants, vendors, contractors, nor subcontractors of the school district.
