CSD and the Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee continue to plan and execute projects to improve safety and security at our school sites. Because of bond funding, Bear Gulch and Dona Merced Elementary now have a secured single-entry access, and design and construction plans for safety upgrades for the other five schools are pending state approval. In addition, all heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) units that were 25 years or older have been replaced at three of our schools, and the remaining four campuses will be upgraded this summer. These essential upgrades would not be possible without the community’s support of Measure N, a $35 million general obligation bond to improve safety and security, that was passed by voters in November of 2014.
