Central Elementary School is one of ten local schools chosen by the San Bernadino Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association (SEBA) to receive a special donation of eight gift cards worth $250 each to be given to teachers. The partnership program between SEBA, Rancho Cucamonga School Resource Officers and school districts is intended to show how much the organization appreciates teachers in San Bernadino County.
On Thursday, September 9th, Principal Renee Barnett and two of her teachers, Joanna Cantelletta and Alicia Webb, were presented the gift cards by representatives of the association. Board Members Barbara Rich and Kathy Thompson as well as CSD Superintendent Donna Libutti also took part in the presentation. County Superintendent Alejandre, who was originally scheduled to participate, was not able to attend due to the El Dorado Fire in Yucaipa.
Principal Barnett stated, “On behalf of my teachers, we would like to extend a very heartfelt “Thank You!” to Mr. Alejandre, San Bernadino County Superintendent of Schools, and the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association! We are very honored to have been selected!”
Teachers who receive the $250 are asked to submit photos of the creative ways they choose to spend their donated gift cards.
